Weeee that was a brilliant weekend. Wendy House went well with literally just under 1000 in. The PA had serious hardware failure before we started, so we opened half an hour late, but this was sorted with lots of cable. There's few of life's problems that can't be solved by lots of cable... otherwise DJing and running the night was an absolute hoot as always.

Yesterday we all stayed in the pub for hours. I feel utterly knackered today, I ache and my internal organs are grumbling. A sign of a great weekend. At least I can sleep at work.... :-D

Good luck to my little car today. It's having a MOT and service done. I want to see your good vibes go out to it whilst it undergoes lots of undignified poking and prodding.

In other news. I have 100 glowsticks sitting on my work desk... my life is a little weird.

Well hello there my LJ chums...

The Christmas Wendy House went very well on Saturday. We had an amazing, packed turn out considering everything else that was going on. Using the power of my fingers and toes I can guestimate that we had just under 1000 lovely people in.

It went very smoothly too, despite a few very minor issues that should be sorted next month. Some pictures are now on the website. Thanks to everyone that's made 2007 a truly fantastic year for us, see you all on January 19th.

Joke of the day

One night a man decides to visit his local bar. He takes a seat and orders a beer. After polishing off his beer, he beckons the bartender over and says, "Betcha $20 I can bite my eye."

The bartender scoffs and accepts. The man then calmly removes his false eye and bites it. The bartender grudgingly forks over a twenty.

Later that night, after a few more beers, the man wanders back to the bar and says rather drunkenly, "Hey barkeep, betcha another $20 I can bite my other eye."

Wanting to win back his money and seriously doubtful that the man has two false eyes, the bartender accepts. The man calmly removes his false teeth and bites his other eye. Scowling, the bartender hands over another twenty. The man leaves and wanders around the bar as he drinks a few more beers.

He strolls back over to the bar, leaning on it, again and calls the bartender, "Hey, barkeep," he burbles, "I'll give you a chance to win yer money back plus. Betcha $100 if you put a shot glass on that end of the bar, and I stood on this end, I could piss into it and not spill a drop."

The bartender eagerly accepts, knowing the feat to be impossible. The man wobbily climbs atop the bar, zips down his fly and promptly pisses all over the bar. He zips up, sits down, slaps the $100 on the bar and laughs uproarously.

"What's so funny?" says the barkeep. "You just lost everything you won and more!"

Well," giggles the man, "I just bet those guys over there $200 that I could piss all over your bar and you wouldn't get angry."

I wonder how much greenhouse gas was emitted by the Greenpeace campaign in encouraging 50,000 teenagers to use Habbo, in an online survey about greenhouse gasses (see bottom of article)? 50,000 PCs use a reasonable amount of electricity. I wonder how much electricity is used in viewing their 90 second gaming campaign video? I'm sure they'll use "Carbon offsetting" as a get out of jail free excuse.

My application for England manager appears to have been turned down.

WENDYHOUSE Xmas Special This Saturday (Dec 15th)

Ho Ho Ho... it's The Wendy House Xmas Party this Saturday (Dec 15th) at Leeds University. It starts at 9pm and is just £5 on the door.

This promises to be the biggest Alternative night Xmas party in the UK. We have an 80's heroes themed, optional fancy dress party. We have prizes and pressies to give away, free magazines to give away with CDs from the DJ booth and much darkly clad christmas cheer.

Don't forget that we have a peak DJ set from Adam from Judas Coven (ex Lab 4) in the Mutate room.

This should be a night to remember, so we'll wish you all a Merry Xmas and see you all there... :-)

After having their 11th child, a chav couple decided that was enough, As the social wouldn't buy them a bigger bed and they weren't strong enough to nick one, the husband went to his doctor and told him that he and his wife didn't want to have any more children.

The doctor told him there was a procedure called a vasectomy that would fix the problem but it was expensive. A less costly alternative was to go home, get a firework, light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to his ear and count to 10.

The chav said to the doctor, 'I may not be the smartest guy in the world, but I don't see how putting a firework in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me' 'Trust me, it will do the job,' said the doctor.

So the man went home, lit a banger and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count '1, 2, 3, 4, 5,' at which point he paused, placed the beer can between his legs so he could continue counting on his other hand...

I went out for Nikkyboy's birthday curry last night... yayy... my Curry was on fire... yayy!

I start my DJ Marathon tonight...

Thursday: Ice Cream Gay Alternative at the Cockpit... billed as Wendy House vs Ice Cream... hopefully not a competition of the campest... 10:30 - 2:30am. 3 quid door.

Friday: Darkside: Billed as a post Amalgamation event 11pm to at least 5am catering for the more dance side of Industrial... I'll be doing a bouncy mix of Harder Trance, Psy Trance, Industrial and splattering of Hard Dance. Its 5 quid in, cheap booze and a really lovely crowd.

I'll hopefully be popping my head in and showing my support for Amalgamation during the weekend, time permitting.

Saturday: March Violets aftershow party until 3am at Leeds Met. Gillywoo and I will be rocking the huge main room dancefloor with Goth and Alternative favourites.

Obviously come along to any of the above events and grab me/ heckle me/ snog me/ buy me beer (delete as applicable).

Adam needs little introduction. Having been one of the founding members of Lab 4 and having DJed all over the world, his music has been played by all the top global Hard Dance DJs. He absolutely ripped the roof off at Mutate in September... and this should be no different!!

This month the Mutate room moves to the larger Mine room at Leeds University, as a one off, as a Xmas treat! The main room stays where it is, but we have a much larger room for our Mutate Xmas party... it's going to be an enormous, pounding fun night!

Hoorah!! That was a good 'un. Some pics are gradually going on the Wendy House website. It was a packed and very fun event as always, although it was a challenging one to DJ at times.

I ended up drinking until well past 6am on Saturday too. Oops. And then ended up in the pub all day yesterday too.... yayyy...

I'm guest DJing quite a bit in the next few weeks...

I'm DJing at the Cockpit on Thursday 6th December at Ice Cream, then on Friday 7th at Darkside at Rios, then at Leeds met on the Saturday for the March Violet gig. Gay alternative, Hard Dance and Goth Djing in the same week. Go me. :-)

Pharaonic fatique

Hey hey folks I'm back!! Did you miss me? Of course you did!! :-) Have I missed any salacious gossip or drama? There must be some!

Egypt quite simply rocked ! I absolutely didn't stop until I got back to Cairo... the group I met up with on the tour were brilliant, mostly Aussies and Kiwis. We had a right laugh! I really could have done with more than 2 days packing and preparation though, I was a tad under-equiped occasionally!

I've been on Camels, Donkeys (at a canter!), Horse and carts, a crusie ship, a Faluca (sailing boat), trains, taxis, coaches, minibuses, ferries... and a Hot Air Baloon. I've travelled a couple of thousand miles from Cairo to 30 miles from the Sudanese border... and then back again. Temperatures ranged from mid 70's to easily the mid 90's in the South. I've seen enough temples, pyramids, statues and heiroglyphs to last me a life time. A full blog with more pics will appear soon.

I also have loads of Egyptian tat from the Bazaars and several funny anecdotes. Anyway I got back home at 1am this morning and back into work today....

Oh it's Wendy House on Saturday by the way, if anyone had missed that!! :-)
